Corfu is the greenest of the Greek islands and the one most shaped by Venice — which is exactly why a wedding here looks unlike a wedding anywhere else in the Aegean. This is the guide we send couples before our first call.
Seasons: when Corfu is at its best
Late May to mid-June and the whole of September are the months we recommend most. The sea is warm, the light is soft, and the island is not yet — or no longer — at full summer capacity. July and August are beautiful but hot; if you marry then, the ceremony belongs at the end of the day, and the reception under trees or on the water.
Early May and October are the quiet secrets. Wildflowers in spring, an amber softness in autumn, and venues that are far more flexible about dates and minimums. The risk is a rainy day, so a covered plan is part of the design from the start rather than an afterthought.

Estates, chapels and coves
Corfu wedding venues fall into three families. Venetian estates and manor houses in the interior — olive groves, stone courtyards, cypress avenues — suit long dinners and a ceremony in a private chapel. Coastal villas and beach clubs on the north-east coast give you the water and the sunset, with fewer historic constraints. Old Town — a UNESCO site — offers churches and squares of real grandeur, but with strict rules on noise, hours and décor.
We choose the venue last, not first. The concept, the number of guests and the kind of evening you want decide it. A hundred people and a seated dinner point to an estate; forty and a dance on the sand point to a cove.
“The venue is the room. The light is the décor. Everything we bring should be lighter than both.”
The ceremony hour
Photographs, comfort and mood all come down to one decision: when the ceremony starts. In June the sun sets around 8:50pm; in September, around 7:30pm. We place the ceremony roughly ninety minutes before sunset, so vows are in warm side-light, portraits fall into the golden hour, and dinner begins as the candles start to matter.
A civil ceremony in Corfu is straightforward for foreign couples — paperwork through the municipality, typically lodged eight days ahead. Orthodox and Catholic ceremonies each have their own requirements and their own churches; we coordinate both.
Getting everyone there
Corfu has direct flights from most European cities between April and October, and a ferry from Igoumenitsa year-round. Roads on the north-east are narrow; we plan transfers for guests rather than parking, and we tell them so early. Hotel blocks in Old Town or along the coast let people make a week of it — most do.
What it costs
A design-led destination wedding in Corfu for 80–120 guests, with full planning and creative direction, generally begins in the range that makes a considered day possible rather than a compromised one. We would rather discuss real figures in person than publish a number that misleads in either direction — write to us and we will send an honest outline within two working days.
What is the best month to get married in Corfu?
Late May to mid-June and September, for warm sea, soft light and available venues.
Can foreigners legally marry in Corfu?
Yes. Civil ceremonies are handled through the local municipality; we manage the paperwork and timing.
How far ahead should we book?
Twelve to eighteen months for a June or September date at an estate; nine months is workable for spring or autumn.
