Most couples who write to us about Corfu have already fallen for the island. What they have not decided yet is who will turn that feeling into a day. This is how we work as a wedding planner in Corfu — and, just as useful, what to ask any planner before you sign.
If you are still choosing the month or the kind of venue, start with Getting married in Corfu: a planner’s honest guide. If you want to understand why the island feels the way it does, read Corfu, the grande dame of Greek weddings. This article is about the people who make it happen.
What a wedding planner in Corfu actually does
Most destination couples plan from another country, often from another time zone. A planner is your eyes and hands on the island: shortlisting and visiting venues, building the team of suppliers — photographer, florist, caterer, musicians, transport — keeping the timeline and the paperwork moving, and being the one person every supplier calls on the day, so that nobody calls you.
On Corfu, local knowledge carries real weight. The roads on the north-east coast are narrow, so guests need transfers rather than parking. The Old Town has its own rules on hours, noise and décor. July and August are hot enough that the ceremony hour decides how comfortable everyone is. None of this is difficult, but all of it has to be thought of before it becomes a problem.
Three ways to work with us
- Full planning and creative direction. From the first call to the last candle: concept, venue, suppliers, budget, guest logistics, stationery, styling and the direction of the day itself.
- Wedding-day direction. You have planned the wedding; we take it over in the final weeks, confirm every supplier, write the running order and run the day so you can be a guest at your own wedding.
- Styling and stationery. The look of the day — tables, flowers, signage, invitations and printed pieces — designed as one whole, for couples who already have a planner or a venue team.
Each is described in more detail on our services page.

Design first, venue second
Many planners begin with a venue list. We begin with a concept: how many people, what kind of evening, what the day should feel like when you remember it in twenty years. The venue follows from that — an estate for a long seated dinner, a village square for something warmer and more open, a villa on the water for a small celebration that runs late.
Because La Memoirette is the events atelier of the design studio Poua Design, the visual identity is made in-house. A monogram becomes the invitation, the invitation becomes the signage and the table cards, and the same hand runs through every printed piece. Guests notice it long before the day, even if they could not say exactly why.
“We drew the day first, on paper, and then we lived it exactly as drawn.”
A typical planning timeline for a Corfu wedding
- 12–18 months before: date, guest numbers, a realistic budget range and the concept; then the venue and the photographer, who book up first for June and September.
- 9–12 months before: caterer, florist, music and transport; save-the-dates; hotel blocks for guests.
- 4–6 months before: invitations and stationery, menu tasting, the styling plan and a rain plan.
- The final two months: final numbers and seating, guest transfers, the running order of the day, and the ceremony paperwork.
- The week of the wedding: supplier confirmations, set-up and a walk-through of the venue at the hour of the ceremony.

Questions to ask any wedding planner in Corfu
- Can we see real weddings you have planned, not only styled shoots?
- Who will be there on the day, and how many weddings do you take on the same weekend?
- How do you charge — a fixed fee or a percentage — and do you take commissions from suppliers?
- What is the plan if it rains, or if the wind picks up on the coast?
- Who handles the paperwork for a civil, Orthodox or Catholic ceremony?
- Can you design the invitations and stationery, or will that be someone else?
We are happy to answer every one of these on a first call, and you should expect the same openness from anyone you are considering.
Beyond weddings: baptisms and dinners on the island
Corfu is also a beautiful place for a baptism in a small chapel, a private villa dinner for an anniversary or an engagement, or a birthday worth travelling for. We plan and style these with the same care as a wedding, often for families who spend every summer on the island.
Why a small atelier
La Memoirette was founded in 2025, but the work behind it is not new. Antigoni Poulou has been the creative director of the design studio Poua Design since 2010, designing and directing events from the very start. The atelier took a name of its own after our wedding in a Venetian village outside Corfu Town — you can see how it looked in A Wedding by the Ionian. We take on a limited number of celebrations each season, in Corfu, in Athens and across Greece, so that each one receives the attention of a design studio rather than a production line.

Do we need a wedding planner for a wedding in Corfu?
Not legally, but most couples who plan from abroad find it hard without one. A local planner shortlists venues, builds the supplier team, handles the paperwork and timing, and runs the day itself, so you can simply be there.
How far in advance should we book a wedding planner in Corfu?
For a June or September wedding at an estate, twelve to eighteen months ahead is ideal, because venues and photographers book up first. For spring or autumn dates, around nine months is usually workable.
Can a foreign couple have a civil wedding in Corfu?
Yes. Civil ceremonies are handled through the local municipality, and the paperwork has to be lodged in advance. We coordinate the documents and the timing, as well as Orthodox and Catholic ceremonies.
Do you only plan weddings in Corfu?
No. We work in Corfu, in Athens and across Greece, and alongside weddings we plan and style baptisms, private villa dinners and birthday celebrations.
Can you design our wedding invitations and stationery?
Yes. La Memoirette is the events atelier of the design studio Poua Design, so monograms, invitation suites, signage and table stationery are designed in-house as part of the same identity.
How much does a wedding planner in Corfu cost?
It depends on the scope of the work, the number of guests and the venue. Rather than publish a figure that misleads, we send an honest outline within two working days of receiving your enquiry.
